Pointe Coupee General Hospital Goes Live With Epic
Leading healthcare platform successfully integrated into day-to-day operations to enhance local patient care
New Roads, LA โ Pointe Coupee General Hospital is proud to announce that the advanced Epic electronic medical record system is officially live and fully integrated into the hospitalโs day-to-day operations. Following months of preparation and staff training, the transition brings the nationโs leading healthcare information platform to New Roads and the greater community. It is only fitting that this watershed moment is happening on November 1, the same day PCGH first opened its doors in 1969.
This historic technological milestone was made possible through a strategic partnership with Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, part of the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System (FMOL Health). By adopting Epic, PCGH securely connects patient information across hospitals, clinics, and providers, ensuring that patients receive seamless, personalized care close to home.
โWe have been anticipating this day since we first announced our partnership with Our Lady of the Lake last fall, and we are excited that Epic is now live,โ said Chad Olinde, CEO of Pointe Coupee General Hospital. โOur dedicated staff has worked tirelessly to train on this new system and ensure a smooth transition for our community. Utilizing Epic day-to-day elevates our standard of care by giving our healthcare professionals world-class technology, while keeping that care rooted right here in New Roads.โ

By utilizing Epic for daily operations, PCGH staff now benefit from real-time access to patient records, streamlined registration, and vastly improved care coordination. If a patient requires care or a consultation with providers at another Epic facility, their medical history, lab results, and imaging will now be instantly and securely accessible to their entire care team.
The go-live also marks the official launch of the MyChart patient portal for the PCGH community. Patients can now take an active role in their healthcare by accessing their medical records from any smartphone, tablet, or computer. Through MyChart, patients can easily:
Manage appointments
Securely message their doctors and care teams
Request prescription refills
View lab, test, and imaging results
Pay medical bills and manage financial information
Patients visiting Pointe Coupee General Hospital will begin experiencing the benefits of the Epic system immediately. Patients are encouraged to sign up for MyChart during their next hospital visit or by downloading the MyChart app.
