Dr. Louis Montelaro is a family practitioner and a Kid Med provider.
In 1966 Dr. Montelaro completed his Internship at Confederate Memorial Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. He then joined the United States Air Force later that year. He trained for 3 months in San Antonio, Texas to become a flight surgeon. The position of flight surgeon requires additional specialized training beyond traditional medical school. The training is both military and medical in nature. He was then deployed to Greenland during the Vietnam War. He served for one year as a flight surgeon and Dispensary Commander. He then returned to the United States and served one year in Syracuse, New York as a Dispensary Commander.
Dr. Montelaro completed medical school at Louisiana State University and has been practicing medicine since March of 1971.
