Valerie Jarreau, RN, BSN, was named Director of Nursing, Chief Nursing Officer, on December 1, 2015.

Mrs. Jarreau is a 1984 graduate of Livonia High School and 1995 graduate of LSU-Eunice where she obtained an Associate’s Degree in Nursing and was a Member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and the Student Nurse Association. She later earned a BSN in Nursing from Northwestern State University in 2014 and earned a Masters Degree in Nursing Administration from NSU in 2016.

Mrs. Jarreau began her career at PCGH in 1995 where she worked in various roles including staff nurse, charge nurse, and the nurse manager of the PCGH operating room and outpatient procedures department. She has been actively involved in the State Survey, the Joint Commission Accreditation, and the Federal Validation of the Joint Commission Survey.

What’s your favorite go-to coffee order?

"As a young child, I remember drinking coffee with my grandmother... flavored with sweetened evaporated milk, and it was so good! As an adult, I rarely drink coffee, but when I do, it is French Vanilla flavored."

When you’re off the clock, where will you be found?

"Outside either working in the yard or spending time with my family on the patio!"

What’s your favorite meal?

"Half and half, fried shrimp and fish, with a loaded baked potato prepared by any of our local restaurants."
